(December 2, 2006) It was a very cold morning. Nonetheless,
we wanted to beat the crowd and show up at its door at
9:00 a.m. And that was a smart move for a Saturday tour
because by noon, the museum was filled with crowds of
adults and children. You can catch a glimpse of the museum
from the slideshow below. We were allowed to take photos
of its architecture but not the displays of the museum
itself. The new Suzhou Museum was completed in October,
2006. It was designed by the internationally renowned
architect, I.M. Pei, whose family originally was from
Suzhou. The museum is next to the Humble Administrator's
Garden and the Lion Forest Garden. If time permits, visit
them too.
